Endless Vermont CHISTMAS!!!!!!

Edit: I'm to lazy to make a christmas journal completely so MERRY CHRISTMAS/WHATEVER. I hope everyone got what they wanted! I know I did! I got some jewlery (stuff i wanted too) and a cute scarf and hat and Dan Brown's 'Last symbol' which i have been dieing to read. and then i got the best present EVAR.

A professional camera! its not as big as my moms and doesn't have a removable lens but IT IS SO AMAZING I FREAKED OUT. and money too so i can go SHOPPING YAY!

my sister got a wii fit so thats fun. I didn't get that much under the tree but i don't mind because my mom has been buying me art supplies during the year. C:

I went to Vermont over the weekend and had a grand time! We traveled around the little surrounding towns. We stayed with friends who lived in Kilington mountain. Like UP in it. It was snowy and beautiful and I took tons of pictures but I'm to lazy to put them into photobucket and show you. If I put up my photos or make a photo sccount you'll see them. We didn't buy any kotsies no... we bought fifty pounds of chocolate and cheese. I bought a new kind of hot chocolate thought and you must try it. Its called Mocha Chocolate. It doesn't need sugar or milk or anything its that sweet. My blood made out of sugar dances in my veins with delight.

Pulled my things out of scholastic.

I think I might go on a art hiatus. Well... maybe not a full hiatus but that kind where I don't freak about art and just relax and do art for me instead of college/portfolio/teachers/classes/scholastic/people in general. Its really been bothering me lately. I've been pondering not doing art but I know that I love it if I didn't have these outside influnces pushing and pulling on me. I know that in the big world I will be pressured to do and finish and do a specific thing but... at least I would be appreciated and payed. Sometimes though... it seems endlessly depressing.

So I got some glasses

I love them... I think I'm going to actually wear them. They are so lovely!

So... art wise. I'm almost done with the Setsu in Springtime picture. It only needs to be glued together since it is in about ten million pieces. Everyday I've been adding things. Shadows, shades, colours, little details like leaves and such. It's really pretty and I'm quite content with it. Not to say I could do better but! Its a very nice piece for Scholastic.

Speaking of which! The Regional Art and Writing Awards are coming up in my area! I have my portfolio all planned out. Hopefully my teachers will like it :C Four or five still lives/studies, one of my personal things (probably the setsu one) an advertising piece, the koi fish picture and the spinning Hindu picture (since both of those won stuff last year) Eight things. I was worried I'd need more but thats it! And... thats all I have :C Well... not really but those are my best things. Wish me luck!

And then people I don't even know friend me. Ok whatever. I can't say no or I'll sound nasty and thats the last thing I need. PERHAPS I'LL MAKE A BLOG TO TELL YOU INTIMATELY MY LIFE THAT REVOLVES AROUND EATING AND ART

GUESS WAT U GUIS I'm making sum art. I'm drawing a wannabe super asian Kashi 'dancing.' Trying to work on details and outfits in that one, which! is not that hard because now that I know some video games and movies and such I can look to other characters for ideas. A sash here. A strip of fabric there. Yakuza tattoos WHICH THERE ARE ZERO PICTURES OF. Its going to hurt with detail. YEAH.

And then another more... softer piece of a girl YES A GIRL WITH BOOBS AND A FUNCTIONAL VAGINA AND NO MAN PARTS ANY WHERE

. She's going to have a shear softly coloured dress on in like... pink and green and blue and such. And shes kneeling and in a giant wrinkle of her dress will be water and fish. I might put birds in and maybe a deer. A BABY DEER AW. Perhaps a bunny or two. Animals of that sort. But its so pretty. I'm using a stock for the hair and the basic skeleton (not the dress its not the dress I'm going for.) A GIRL THATS NOT SOPHIE OR SUPER GIRLY SETSU. HOLY CRAP.

Soooo I went to the Everson Art Museum in Syracuse and saw the Turner to Cezanne Exhibit.

It was so beautiful! Oh God the colours were like a dream! They had Monet! OMG! WATERLILIES HOLY CRAP.

It was so nice to go with a friend who enjoyed it as much as I did. I wish I could have gotten a picture of my favourite painting of a little girl in a white dress OR AT LEAST THE NAME OF THE ARTIST GOD. But my mom is going and might take me to walk through it again. C:

He Sits by a Koi Pond and Dips His Feet In

I’m tired of black and white. I’m tired of my gothic characters. I’m tired of vampires. I’m tired of doom and gloom and greasy black hair. I’m tired of anime loli and her dresses. I’m tired of tall ugly pedo. I’m tired of Nazis and their stupid red hair. I’m tired of devils and demons and pretend hell. I’m tired of black and white. I’m done for awhile with my gothic characters and they are going on the shelf for a while perhaps a long time. I don’t want to think about vampires and Christianity and medieval weaponry and guns and death. I’m sick and tired of them. But I feel a bit sad because they are my creations and I’m abandoning them. Sort of like I’m abandoning a part of myself.

Oh well....

I want colour and happiness and nature. This is the most I’ve ever felt such a strong pull to my Japanese characters and I know this sounds dumb but depending on which character group I’m thinking of makes my personality one way or the other. So if I’m thinking of death and dark and vampires I guess I’m not a happy person. If I’m thinking about kimonos and Shinto/Buddhism and adorable fat little birds I am much more happy. Somehow... even though they live in Edo period Japan and “have the spirits of the gods” inside them, they seem more realistic to me than “small loli who is the next Jesus” or “ugly goth vampire” or “Nazi that can never die ever” or “Satan.” I guess it’s because they’re not so out there with what they are.

They live in normal little houses with rolling paper windows and bamboo on the floor and do things alot of people back then did and had jobs people back then had. They eat fish and rice and drink tea and have bags under their eyes in the morning and take hot baths because if they don't they start to smell terrible. They don’t wake up when the sun goes down and go hunting for virgins by the light of a red moon. They don’t shy away from religious objects and they do have different clothes to wear rather than a set outfit.

Even when I draw them it’s easier to make my Japanese people realistic than the goth ones. No face changes needed (other than depending on the realism level whether they have more of an asian stucture or not). Perhaps a hair colour change since fire-engine-red and blue are not very natural. And that’s it. Maybe a costume change depending on the picture whether it be modern, or a bazillion different types of old style with beautiful accents that were a normal part of dress in ancient Japan. With the others I had to change everything but they don't have the appeal like my Japanese people do. The newest picture I’m drawing has really opened my eyes.

I want colour.

I know I probably sound extremely stupid for being so meditative on my characters but... I don’t know. I like them. Their stories I make up give me inspiration and put an emotional push behind my pieces. I probably sound like a whining japanophile but... it makes me happy. I love the old Japan. Not through the eyes of anime but in books and documentaries (which are few and far between). Even though it’s more fantastical... it’s somehow more realistic than modern New York City.

I don’t know. Perhaps you know what I’m talking about.

The Hermaphrodite with a Halo of Branches

EDIT: new journal skin! I think its pretty. I (of course) didn't draw the header but I might use the code to make it a setsu journal since I am currently obcessed with the gay little thing. Its the only nature-y japanese-y journal skin I could find :C

I've been working on being fo' real. I'm doing these huge (well... kinda) paintings of the nude figures and they are soooooo prettyyyyyyy!! I'm using a controlled pallet of white, yellow, red, and brown. The red-brown-yellow-white combo actually makes this nice purple-y colour. So far its been really easy oO I don't know if that means its wrong but it looks nice. The more I render on the piece the easier it gets. Its a bit more dramatic than the actual photograph and deeper in colour. I love it.

Also that Springtime for Setsu in Japaaaaaan is changed! I scrapped that last picture of him being all.... fake and such and drew ~Pet-Da-Anbu's face instead. Except it must be the lips or something because everyone asks if its her. And if they are not asking if its her they are asking if its a girl and if so then she's pretty. Lol no. Boy plz. Well... part boy... he has -looks it up- Persistent Mullerian duct syndrome YAY HERMAPHRODITE PLZ.

For one of my classes I have to auction off of my skills i.e. do a portrait to raise money for breast cancer. I guess it'll look good on my college resume C:

OOOOMGOMGDJSKLDJHLSFJHKL SILENT HIIIIIILLLLLLLL ~Pet-Da-Anbu and I have been watching the Silent Hill movie non stop and its so COOOOL OMG. We're buying the games so we can ~~fap over pyramid head rape~~ PLAY IT AND BE AWESOME. OH GOD PYRAMID HEAD IS THE COOLEST CHARACTER DESIGN EVAR.

On that note, we're volunteering at the local art center to be scary halloween monsters. She's a wannabe man silent hill nurse zombie thing and I'm a plague infected, plague doctor. Yeah. We're supposed to scare little kids but we only have to stand there to scare them. Now whats cool is that we are like... psychologically scareing the poo out of the adults. Its amazing. Come see us.
